Halloween is just around the corner.
And this time of year brings with it the opportunity to be someone you’re not.
Through costumes, masks, make-up and more, some turn themselves into elaborate characters – some more adventurous than others.
But the potential to be adventurous is all around us.
You don’t even have to go far to find adventure – it may be in your own backyard.
Being adventurous can lead to good times and great memories, but it can also be really good for you.
Here’s why.
Being adventurous:
- expands your mind and provides you opportunities to grow and learn. Meeting new people and visiting new places all come packed with life lessons you may not otherwise be exposed to in daily life.
- allows us to retain positive feelings long after the adventure is over. Good memories from adventures bring happy emotions.
- brings a better attitude when life gets sticky and the unexpected happens. When things go off the grid, keeping calm and finding humor makes getting back on track a little easier.
- allows you to live without wondering “what if?”. What if I had taken that trip? What if I had taken that class? What if I had learned that new skill?
So, if you haven’t been adventurous lately, here’s permission to fly – seek new adventures, connect to the bigger world, and challenge yourself to try new things.
