Imagine that you have a friend going through a very difficult time.
And you’re ready to provide them support.
One piece of advice you may give them is to take care of themselves.
Sit for a minute and make a list of five things they could do to take care of themselves.
Now, pick one of those things and go do it for yourself.
You see, we often think of how to help others.
But we forget to take care of ourselves.
So, here’s a few ideas to get you thinking about something nice you can do for yourself today.
- Go for a walk
- Turn up your favorite song and dance
- Bake your favorite recipe
- Plant something in your yard
- Sit in the sunlight
- Do some yoga
- Pet a furry friend
- Read or watch something for enjoyment
- Make yourself some hot cocoa with little marshmallows
Whatever you do, making time for yourself is important to reduce anxiety, depression, stress, frustration and anger.
And can increase energy and happiness.
So off you go.
Make your list.
Pick one item from the list.
And take care of yourself today.
